KRON-TV (Channel 4) premiered Breakaway on Friday 5 September 1975 at 10pm, six days after the KHJ Los Angeles premiere. They then shifted to a regular slot on Saturday 7pm from 13 September 1975. Both KRON and KHJ followed the same broadcast order for the first 12 episodes (the first seven were identical to New York). Unlike KHJ only showed two re-runs over the Christmas holidays, and did not pre-empt any Year One episodes.

1976 Year Two

The Metamorph was shown twice, first on Saturday, August 21, then again to start the regular run on 4th September. This was the alternative version with the orange tree transformation. Unlike Year One, several Year 2 episodes were pre-empted (replaced) by other programming, so episodes would skip a week or more (from mid-November 1976 to early January, only one episode was shown)..

Reruns

In the summer of 1977-1979 KRON (and Los Angeles KHJ) reran the series at 4:00pm on Sundays.

The series was telecasted in the San Francisco Bay Area again from 1982-87 (Channel 36 KICU) Saturdays at 4pm and then again (uncut) on the PBS station KTEH from 1989-94 at 9:00pm Sunday nights.
